BRADFIELD SCHOOL COMMUNITY HALL

In 2012, TSA designed a new hall and gymnasium for a rural school situated just outside of Sheffield, that provides education to 5-11 year olds.

The new hall also serves the local village, acting as a community hall and providing spaces for activities and events.

The School site is on the edge of the Peak Park, and located on a steep slope, making it in a highly visible position in a Conservation Area. Sheffield  Planning Department therefore expected any proposed building to reflect the agricultural environment both in its materials and form.

The low carbon design for the scheme incorporates a ground source heat pump, wind turbines and solar panels. Sustainable materials such as sheepswool insulation, chestnut cladding and natural stone from a local quarry were also utilised
